Diagnodent Laser Cavity Detector is a wonderful tool for diagnosing the various stages of dental decay. This laser instrument will scan the teeth with a harmless light of different wave lengths to find hidden decay, allowing us to treat the tooth in the earliest stages of decay. This new technology is completely safe and pain free.
The device looks like pen and it simply glides over tooth surface constantly checking the health of the tooth providing instant feedback on the health of the tooth. A number scale and an alarm signal the operator when there are signs of hidden decay!
Soft Tissue Lasers
We use Soft Tissue Lasers in conjunction with other procedures. The “Biolase Diode Laser” and the “Kavo Diode Laser”. This allows us to get better final result and quicker healing with less sensitivity for the patient. The Lasers allows us to clean, sterilize and desensitize the operative area and promotes healing and eliminates the need for more invasive procedures.
Biolase Diode Laser
Kavo Diode Laser
We use the Laser in treating Periodontal (gum) diseases which can eliminate the need for gum surgery. They are also being used to help sterilize canals in endodontics and aid in teeth whitening. Another use for the soft tissue laser in to easily cure canker sores since it gives immediate pain relief and causes the ulcer to heal in 24-72 hours.
X-rays are the most important tool a dentist can use because they show a true picture of your teeth, allowing us to see what the human eye cannot. In order to set patients minds at ease about the risk of getting over-radiation exposure, we have changed our x-rays over to a new hi-tech computer system that has a much less exposure to radiation.
Dental X-rays are very important because they can expose hidden tooth decay, reveal a dental abscess, cyst or tumor; show impacted or extra teeth, cavities, fractures; and also help determine the condition of fillings, crowns, bridges and root canals, among other problems.
We are proud to be a completely digital and computerized Glendale dentistry practice. With digital radiography, these state-of-the-art computerized images help us instantly identify any dental issues, such as gum problems and tooth decay, and expose the patient to 90% less radiation than traditional X-rays.
Did you ever wonder what the dentist sees when she’s examining your mouth? With our intra-oral camera, you can watch while Dr. Martirosyan works. An intra-oral camera is a tiny, precise camera that fits into the mouth and takes digital photographs of the back teeth and gums, allowing to view cavities, decay, gum disease, and other dental problems helps patients clearly understand their treatment.
Air abrasion is an effective method used by dentist to remove the tooth decay. The instrument used in this procedure works by blowing a fine stream of powerful dry clean air mixed with particles of silica, aluminum oxide, or a baking soda mixture onto the surface of the teeth. The decay is sprayed away from the tooth and the particles of decay are then “suctioned” away.
Air Abrasion is also used by the dentist when he is preparing the teeth for cosmetic surgery, repairing old fillings and sealants and restoring broken bridges and crowns. The device is completely silent, virtually painless and produces no vibration or heat.
