no-prep veneers

Porcelain veneers have long been a way for patients to make a cosmetic transformation to their smile. They help patients correct a stained, chipped, or slightly misaligned tooth. Although it seems like not much preparation is needed, the traditional veneer still involves some volume of permanent tooth alteration.

Fortunately, an alternative is available for patients: no-prep veneers. Thanks to this procedure, patients can avoid the need for any tooth structure alteration, drilling, or at least minimize it. When choosing no-prep veneers, patients may not even need local anesthesia.

Consisting of a thin layer of porcelain, veneers are bonded externally to the front surface of teeth. Traditionally, portions of enamel were removed to help the tooth accommodate the extra covering. With no-prep, no drill veneers provided by your Glendale and Pasadena dentist, they do not extend under the gum line. In addition, they are thinner, and may require no or minimal reshaping at the most. Since your teeth are not permanently altered during this procedure, the veneer can be removed and enable the teeth to return to their natural state.

To determine your candidacy for no-prep veneers or other cosmetic dentistry treatments, contact Pacific Dental Care and schedule an appointment.
