The mission of the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) is to protect the public health by regulating the safety of health products and medical devices, including sleep apnea appliances. Since 2010, over 65 sleep apnea appliances have gained FDA premarket notification, meaning that they are safe, effective at treating obstructive sleep apnea, and available for public use.
These appliances are intended for mild to moderate cases of sleep apnea in patients eighteen and older. Though generic sleep apnea appliances are available online, we recommend that you visit a doctor to get a custom appliance. This will ensure a better fit and a higher quality of treatment.
Though treatment with a CPAP machine is usually recommended for sleep apnea, if you opt for a different treatment, you may see positive results with an FDA-approved sleep apnea appliance. Visit Pacific Dental Care to get your sleep apnea evaluation, and we can discuss your options for treatment. We will identify the best treatment device for your particular case. Call immediately and schedule a consultation to discuss your sleep apnea.
